The Great Pyrenees are generally very gentle, calm and tolerant. They are also very confident and fearless. When a threat arises, they can quickly spring into action to address it. They are very loyal to their family unit and have naturally protective instincts, which make them a great watchdog
They are excellent family dogs. They do very well with children of all ages.
The average adult Great Pyrenees ranges from 25-32 inches tall. They are generally 85 pounds or more and live approximately 10-12 years.
An average of 20-30 minutes of exercise per day is healthy for the Great Pyrenees.
All markings on puppies fade significantly over time, leaving a nearly white adult dog. Any remaining markings tend to be light and fairly subtle.
Their thick double coat is naturally tangle resistant, so they need very little grooming. However, they will shed their undercoat during seasonal changes. Brushing can help with these transitions.
The Great Pyrenees are very independent yet capable dogs. They are highly trainable, but they need patient, consistent leadership.
They were originally created to live with shepherds and other dogs in the Pyrenees Mountains, protecting the flocks. Their majestic stature and thick coat made them a great ally against predators in that wintry climate.

Yes, with reason. We do use carriers or flight nannies. This is all based on distance and cost, so please reach out. We do travel up to 8 hours for an extra fee as well, if our schedule permits.
We aim to keep our dogs in top health and treat them with great respect. To give them adequate time to rest between litters, we breed each dog once approximately every 1.5 years. For information about our upcoming litters, please click HERE.
Families may take puppies home at eight weeks.
